This SEN Teaching Assistant role is perfect for someone passionate about supporting children with additional needs across the local area including Hoddesdon and surrounding communities.
The Role: As a SEN Teaching Assistant, youll work closely with pupils who have a range of special educational needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and Speech and Language difficulties. This SEN Teaching Assistant position involves supporting children on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, helping them access the curriculum and thrive in their learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supporting pupils with SEN across EYFS to KS2
* Delivering tailored interventions and strategies for children with EHCP plans
* Working collaboratively with teachers and the SENCO
* Building positive relationships with pupils and promoting their social and emotional development
* Adapting resources and activities to meet individual learning needs
What Were Looking For:
* Experience working with children with SEN in a school or educational setting
* A patient, nurturing approach with strong behaviour management skills
* Knowledge of strategies for supporting ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or Speech and Language needs
* Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness )
* Desirable: Training in PECS, Makaton, or sensory strategies
