Help us safeguard and manage sensitive information effectively.
Due to increasing demand, we are seeking an additional, full-time Subject Access Request Officer for an initial three-month period. The successful candidate will be a qualified social worker, responsible for accessing and extracting information from digital records while ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
About the Role and Responsibilities:
* Process Subject Access Requests: Process subject access requests in line with the Data Protection Act and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
* Locate, Access, and Extract Information: Locate, access, and extract information from computer systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
* Information Redaction: Redact third-party and sensitive information to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory obligations.
* Liaise with Internal Departments: Liaise with internal departments to obtain relevant documentation.
* Maintain Accurate Records: Maintain accurate records of requests, responses, and actions taken.
* Information Governance: Provide guidance and advice on information governance and data protection matters.
* Ensure Compliance: Ensure all information handling practices adhere to council policies and procedures.
Key Requirements:
* Qualified Social Worker (DipSW, CQSW, BA Hons in Social Work, or equivalent).
* Social Care England registration.
* Updated DBS check.
* Degree (or equivalent) in Social Work.
* Successful completion of ASYE.
* Previous experience in records management, data protection, or a similar role.
* Strong knowledge of the Data Protection Act and GDPR.
* Experience working within a local authority or similar organization.
* Excellent attention to detail and the ability to handle sensitive data securely.
* Ability to work independently and manage workloads efficiently.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
