Job Title: Materials & Supply Chain Manager

Hours - Monday - Friday (37.5) with a half-day on Friday
Opportunity to undertake a high visibility, strategic and tactical Supply Chain management role with accountability for providing vision and direction to our complete supply chain, spanning purchasing, inventory, planning, materials and export.
Working as part of our senior team you will support our ongoing growth and expansion plans whilst enduring the best, most constant quality of supply chain management of materials for our complex products.
As our Materials & Supply Chain Manager, you will need to have a mix of commercial / strategic acumen gained within a mechanical / electro-mechanical manufacturing environment together with exceptional planning and organization skills, but with the ability to be tactical and lead by example.
Acting as the main point of contact within the business you will be responsible for updating and developing a robust, lean / streamlined Supply Chain function that will support continued market penetration.
The role will be diverse and encompass:
Reviewing and overhauling the current supply chain system with a view to identifying areas for improvements whether this is systems or process driven.
Management and successful delivery of identified initiatives
Project management of development stages of new products from a supply chain perspective
Realizing cost reductions where possible
Ensuring and managing adherence to the master production schedule (MPS), overseeing the order acceptance process and standardizing procedures for order management, capacity planning and forecasting.
Strategic planning. Including ensuring ERP / MRP system fully utilized
Inventory Management and management of the customer demand schedule and balancing with business capacity
To succeed in this varied, key role you will be a commercial, results driven individual with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
A background in materials management / supply chain / purchasing or demand management within a manufacturing / production environment is essential (electronic and mechanical commodity knowledge ideal) as is in depth knowledge of MRP / ERP.
CIPS/APICS qualification highly desirable but not essential.
The ability to influence internally and externally is a prerequisite
