We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Equine Vet to join our RCVS accredited practice located in beautiful countryside in the north-east of England.

About us:

Established in 1986 Bearl Equine has grown in reputation as a dedicated equine clinic with specialist experience and facilities. With ongoing investment and development, the clinic has achieved recognition as the most fully equipped, comprehensive equine unit in north-east England.

We are a clinic based and ambulatory practice with a growing referral caseload, and 10-stable facility. The emphasis is on diagnostics, with a standing MRI, Scintigraphy and surgical theatre suite which runs alongside our general practice.

The Role and You:

We are looking for a skilled and confident Equine Vet, preferably with surgical experience who can join our close-knit team to help us achieve our goals to move on to the next level, developing relationships with neighbouring practices and building on our reputation of trust.

We would be particularly keen to hear from candidates with a passion for expanding our equine surgical services.

You'll enjoy working within a highly supportive practice with a varied caseload with emphasis on sport horse medicine and imaging.

This position offers the potential for a Clinical Director or leadership role.

Rota:

* Full time - Mon to Fri - 8.30am to 5.00pm
* OOH – current 1:6 out of hours rota

The Team:

Our collaborative team of 5 vets have a wealth of experience and a diverse range of interests from internal and emergency medicine, imaging and elective surgery with a target market of largely leisure horses and semi-professional/amateur competition horses.

We have the valued support of our skilled RVN's, VCA's and support colleagues who help ensure we deliver the best service possible to our clients.

Outside of work there's plenty to enjoy in our downtime with easy access to the Lake District and the Northumberland National Parks including Kielder Forest. Cycling, hiking and wild swimming is all on the doorstep plus there are lots of great clubs including football, rugby and triathlon in the area.

The Area:

We're situated in the Tyne Valley just a stone's throw away from the picturesque village of Stocksfield which boasts ample amenities plus a truly friendly community

The area is ideal for nature lovers – with beautiful scenery and opportunities for a wide variety of outdoor activities.

For those that also enjoy a faster pace the vibrant city of Newcastle on Tyne is only 14 miles to the east and easily accessible with great transport links. It offers a huge variety of bars, restaurants and shops plus a never-ending calendar of music, cultural and sporting events.
