Job Description
The Fire Safety Manager will oversee fire safety management for GPA clients, ensuring statutory compliance and safe environments. Reporting to the Head of Fire Safety, the role involves developing safety systems, delivering fire safety services, and engaging with stakeholders and external bodies.
Key Responsibilities include:
* Implementing and maintaining fire safety policies aligned with legislation and best practices.
* Engaging with stakeholders and conducting joint inspections with fire authorities.
* Advising on fire safety standards, training, and risk management.
* Leading assurance programs and supporting project teams to incorporate fire safety in all activities.
External Influence
* Building relationships with suppliers, clients, and regulatory bodies.
* Representing GPA in external forums and committees.
Risk Management
* Maintaining discipline-specific risk registers and supporting risk mitigation efforts.
Leadership
* Providing best-in-class fire safety assurance services.
* Leading team training and deputizing for the Head of Fire Safety when needed.
Person Specification
Essential: Experience managing fire safety, conducting audits, stakeholder engagement, excellent communication, client focus, IT proficiency, and relevant qualifications (Level 3 Fire Safety Certificate or equivalent, membership of professional bodies like IFE or IFSM).
Desirable: Level 4 Fire Safety Certificate, risk management experience, negotiation skills, and CPD record.
