We are currently recruiting for an Equine Instructor in Enniskillen. The successful candidates will be required to start once the vetting paperwork, ANI clearance has been completed.

Start date: ASAP

Duration: 6 months

Rate of pay: £16.45

Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm. In addition, a requirement of the post will be that the successful candidate may be required to work outside normal working hours including early mornings, evenings and weekends / public holidays.

Key Responsibilities:

The main duties of the post will include:
1. Planning, setting up and delivering practical equine classes to studentsin the racing, equitation and breeding units at CAFRE Enniskillen Campus.
2. Supporting a range of lecturers, instructors and industrial staff with set up and delivery of practical education and knowledge transfer to a diverse range of learners in both face-to-face and online settings.
3. Monitoring and reporting on students enrolled on educational programmes and short courses.
4. Assisting students with dissertation work including data capture and ensuring student practical classes are conducted as planned, including data capture as agreed.
4. Carrying out day-to-day equine management duties associated with the equine units.
5. Recording information (for example electronic data) relating to the equine units.
6. Complying with all CAFRE Health and Safety policies and procedures and contributing effectively to the management of Health and Safety from a CAFRE business perspective both on and off site.
5. Supervising learners and recording information associated with CAFRE education and knowledge transfer, events and other activities which may be located on campus or off campus e.g. assessment outcomes, learner attendance.
6. Driving duties which will include driving departmental vehicles and towing trailers.
7. Assisting with other general estate/ farm duties as required.

The above list is not exhaustive but gives a good indication of the main duties of the post.

Essential Criteria applicants must have:

1. A formal equine qualification to at least Level 3, (e.g. NVQ Level 3, British Horse Society Stage 3, Level 3 Extended Diploma in Equine Management) or equivalent
AND
2. At least 2 years, full time equivalent, experience in the equine industry.
AND
3. A full, current driving licence enabling the licence holder to drive in Northern Ireland.

Teaching qualification, for example ‘British Horse Society Stage 3 Teach’ and experience.
A driving licence entitling the person to tow a trailer (Category B+E).
