Key Responsibilities
As a Waking Night Support Worker in this residential care setting, your primary focus will be to build trust and develop nurturing relationships that support the independence, well-being, strengths, and capabilities of service users. You will work collaboratively with parents, carers, and multidisciplinary professionals to deliver high-standard support. Responsibilities include contributing to the maintenance of the home, including cooking and cleaning tasks, ensuring accurate documentation and record-keeping, and adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures. Promoting and maintaining a safe environment at all times is essential.
Essential Requirements
To be successful in this role, candidates should demonstrate the following:
* Hold, or be willing to achieve within a specified timeframe, a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent relevant qualification.
* Demonstrable experience working with children, young people, and their families.
* A solid understanding of safeguarding practices and the protection of vulnerable individuals.
* Flexibility to work shift patterns including weekends and bank holidays.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively support service users and liaise with colleagues.
* Availability during the daytime for mandatory training and group supervision, with advance notice.
* Flexibility to travel to various homes across the local area as required, including locations such as Hinckley, Coalville, Mountsorrel, Braunstone, and Syston.
Salary & Benefits
The salary for the Waking Night Support Worker role ranges from £26,142.40 to £29,463.72 per annum, plus a Night Shift Premium allowance to recognise unsociable hours. The position is offered on a 37-hour full-time, permanent contract.
