SEMH Teaching Assistant – KS3
We are seeking a resilient, committed SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive specialist setting, working with KS3 pupils with Autism, ADHD and Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs.
This role is ideal for someone with strong character, emotional intelligence and consistency, who can remain calm under pressure and build positive, trusting relationships with young people who may present with challenging behaviours. You will support pupils both 1:1 and in small groups, helping them to regulate emotions, engage with learning and develop confidence within the school environment.
The successful candidate will have experience supporting pupils with SEMH and neurodiverse needs, and a solid understanding of behaviour support, de-escalation strategies and trauma-informed practice. You will be adaptable, patient and able to work collaboratively with teaching staff to provide structure, clear boundaries and nurture where needed.

Key requirements:
Experience supporting pupils with SEMH, Autism and/or ADHD
Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
Resilience, reliability and a calm, confident presence
Ability to build positive relationships with KS3 pupils
