This role involves providing support with bedtime routines and walking an assistance dog. - Duties include: - Moving and handling - Cooking - Other relevant duties as required - Looking after pets - Dressing / undressing - Bathroom assistance - Previous experience as a carer or in a similar role - Knowledge of personal assistant insurance and safeguarding protocols - Ability to use a hoist and assist with mobility - Friendly and patient demeanour, with a compassionate approach to care - Assisting with bedtime routines and ensuring the individual is comfortable and safe - Providing walking assistance and supporting mobility with an assistance dog - Using a hoist for safe transfers, as the individual is a wheelchair owner -Preparing my breakfast Candidate qualities: - Reliable with good timekeeping - Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative - Hygienic, tidy and well organised - Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties - Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills - Honest and cheerful - Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard - Must be comfortable with pets - Able to always work to high standards of health & safety - Must like dogs as I have an assistance dog that needs a 10 minute walk as part of job description Additional requirements - Non-smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours, - Vulnerable to the risk of infection and disease transmission Notes: All applicants must have the right to work in the UK and be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check if required.
