Job Description
Join the team at George Baker as an experienced Freight Forwarder and take the lead in managing our customers’ air and sea freight - from arrival through to final delivery. You'll play a key role in ensuring smooth, efficient logistics and outstanding service every step of the way.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage import air and sea freight from arrival to delivery
* Use internal systems to create and track shipments
* Handle FCL and LCL shipments
* Check and forward documentation to shipping lines
* Build strong customer relationships to grow business
* Complete accurate customs declarations
* Coordinate with clients, depots, warehouses, and hauliers
* Provide regular shipment updates to customers
* Invoice according to quotes and fee structures
* Resolve queries and issues efficiently
Skills and Experience Required:
* Minimum 3 years previous experience in a similar role essential
* Good knowledge of customs processes and documentation
* Ability to communicate effectively with shipping lines and hauliers
* Highly organised with ability to prioritise own workload
* Self motivated, reliable, trustworthy and hard working
* Proactive approach, problem solving skills
* Impeccable attention to detail and conscientiousness vital
