This role focuses on working within a secondary-aged ASD class, supporting pupils with severe autism and complex needs. You will use autism-specific strategies such as visual timetables, structured routines, sensory regulation approaches, and alternative communication methods (including AAC where appropriate) to support learning and emotional wellbeing. Lessons will be adapted to support both academic progress and functional life skills, helping students develop confidence and essential skills for their future. You will be supported by a skilled team of teaching assistants and will work closely with therapists, SENCOs, and external professionals to ensure a holistic, person-centred approach to education.
