Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Drafter to join our dynamic team.
To ensure drawing requirements are planned and completed to the required quality standards and within agreed timescales, including the management of Client approvals.
Key Tasks
1. Produce General Arrangement drawings and Fabrication Drawings and provide technical drawing support to Project Managers, Sites
2. Co-ordinate with the Site Manager/ Project Managers over design intent and solutions/fixing requirements
3. Manage and plan all drawing requirements to ensure work is scheduled on time to meet the main programme dates, outsourcing over / under capacity where necessary
4. Ensure all drawings comply with company standards and legislative/regulatory requirements
5. Develop and implement quality standards and procedures in the drawing office including electronic filing and maintenance of records
6. Attend Technical Reviews for all new works and monitor the progress of drawing production, reporting status and concerns at weekly production meeting
7. Manage Client / Consultant liaison to enable design / drawing development through to approval, keeping Project Manager and Project Manager appraised of progress.
8. Responsible for reviews and approval of drawings to maintain required quality standards
9. Responsible for the recording of variations and collating associated survey/drawing hours
10. Prioritise the issue of drawings for special items to the Buyer, (specials, profiling etc.) allowing enough lead-in time to keep to programme
11. Review budget & costings in line with Company budget
12. Main point of contact for all DO personnel, answering queries and giving advice, resolve queries relating to drawing interpretation and liaise with Clients as necessary to confirm details
13. Be responsible for the drawing office team with day to day HR responsibility including identification of training requirements, discipline, grievances, recruitment, staff leave and back to work interviews after illness, and record any meetings/discussions which have a contractual implication
14. Carry out site surveys wearing appropriate PPE, working safely in accordance with associated risk assessments
15. Exporting to StruMIS to allow for production management
16. Assist the buyer in the transfer between Tekla and StruMIS
17. Ensure the effective integration of filled wire
18. Any other duties considered necessary to fulfil the role
Core Skills
· CSCS card
· 2-3 years Technical Drawing Tekla 3D experience in architectural and structural steel detailing
· Knowledge of StruMis
· Communication with external professions, other teams and management
· Works with minimum supervision
· Financial knowledge and understanding of budgets and costings
· Team player
· Driving Licence
· Organisation and time management
· Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental management awareness
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £50,000.00-£75,000.00 per year
