Teaching Personnel is seeking a compassionate and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to support one of our specialist partner schools in the Huyton area from September 2026. This role is ideal for candidates who are passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people who require additional emotional and behavioural support.

About the Role:
* Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.
* Assist with de‑escalation strategies and promote positive behaviour.
* Work closely with teachers and pastoral teams to implement personalised support plans.
* Assist with emotional regulation, confidence‑building and resilience strategies.
* Contribute to a nurturing, structured environment that helps pupils feel safe and supported.
* Support learning both inside and outside the classroom, adapting activities where needed.

The Ideal Candidate
* Have experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, SEND, challenging behaviour, or youth/community work.
* Are patient, emotionally resilient and able to remain calm under pressure.
* Are confident in forming positive relationships with pupils who may display challenging behaviours.
* Can work well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Are committed to helping pupils access learning and reach their potential.
* Hold relevant training (Team-Teach, MAPA, safeguarding) – desirable but not essential.
