Exciting brand new opportunity at Glasgow Jaguar as we seek an experienced Workshop Controller to join our dynamic team in a state-of-the-art facility. This role is ideal for a talented and enthusiastic Workshop Controller looking to advance their career in a premium brand environment.
As a Workshop Controller, you will supervise and motivate our team of Technicians & Apprentices and proactively review, prioritize the daily workload.
You will be a key part of our business and the Aftersales Department, reporting to Service Manager Mark Sheffield, who will provide ongoing support and brand-specific training to help you progress within the Jaguar Land Rover brand and the motor trade industry.
Your responsibilities include managing the daily operations of the workshop, ensuring technicians meet targets, assisting the Service Manager in delivering excellent customer service, and maintaining high customer satisfaction through quality checks.
1. Ensure compliance with company policies, DVSA, health and safety, and OEM standards.
2. Guarantee all service work is completed correctly, efficiently, and on time, with customer satisfaction as a priority.
3. Maintain relationships with vehicle manufacturers and support technicians during repairs, ensuring high standards are upheld.
4. Coordinate with colleagues and other departments to deliver top-quality service.
5. Schedule work considering workshop targets, job complexity, and parts availability.
6. Support the team with technical challenges and prepare technical reports as needed.
The ideal candidate will have motor industry experience managing a team in a busy Service/Workshop environment, with a minimum of NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent). A solid understanding of COSHH legislation, trade practices, and consumer legislation is essential, along with awareness of workshop quality control and inspection standards.
We seek someone who is friendly, confident, and enthusiastic, with a team-oriented attitude. A full valid UK driving license is required due to the role's nature.
