Estimator - Specialist Interiors/Fit Out/Partitions
Location: High Wycombe
THE OPPORTUNITY:
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Estimator to join a well-established Special Works division based in High Wycombe.
This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a knowledgeable estimating team, working on a range of interior fit-out and specialist construction projects. You will be responsible for building up costs from first principles through to full tender submission and final sales price.
THE ROLE:
As an Estimator, you will take ownership of allocated tender enquiries and ensure a responsive, accurate, and commercially sound estimating service is delivered to clients.
You will work closely with colleagues across estimating and sales to ensure opportunities are maximised and tenders are followed through effectively to secure orders.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Receive and manage tender enquiries allocated by senior management
* Undertake quantity take-offs from drawings where required
* Review and interpret Bills of Quantities, scanning and organising documentation
* Issue enquiries for materials and subcontract packages
* Analyse and assess incoming supplier and subcontractor quotations
* Build detailed cost plans using estimating software (Causeway or similar)
* Liaise with the sales team to support tender presentations when required
* Attend internal meetings and proactively follow up live tenders through to order or outcome
* Calculate preliminaries using Excel-based templates
* Present completed tenders for review and adjudication
* Incorporate feedback and finalise submissions prior to issue
* Maintain weekly reporting on pipeline and potential order opportunities
* Update internal systems with live tender status and progress
* Carry out additional estimating duties as required
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
* Strong communication skills with excellent attention to detail
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
* Experience with estimating software (Causeway or similar) advantageous
* Minimum 1 year’s estimating experience within interior fit-out or subcontracting environments preferred
* Commercially aware with a proactive and organised approach
HOURS:
Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:30pm
