We are recruiting an experienced Principal Electrical Engineer to support Principal Designer / Design Authority (DA) activities on a major High Voltage Electrical Distribution Upgrade project within the nuclear sector.
This role involves maintaining accurate documentation and ensuring system integrity across 132kV and 11kV infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for drawing validation and system updates using internal documentation and record-keeping platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
* Review and assess electrical drawings across internal document control systems.
* Identify and validate the most current representations of HV system installations.
* Migrate verified drawings into the AO document and record system.
* Support Principal Designer / DA responsibilities in line with regulatory and project requirements.
* Operate within live High Voltage Substations (132kV / 11kV), following all safety procedures.
* Ensure compliance with documentation and drawing standards per site protocols.
* Collaborate with project teams to verify on-site installations against as-built documentation.
Requirements:
* Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline – Essential
* Professionally qualified to IEng or CEng status – Essential
* Experience in the design and implementation of 132kV and 11kV substations – Essential
* 'Person' status for access to Gridyards / Substations – Essential
* Experience working in nuclear or high-hazard environments – Essential
* Active SC clearance and eligibility for additional security and safety training – Essential
* Knowledge of engineering document control systems and record management tools
* Experience as a Principal Designer / Design Authority under CDM regulations
* Strong attention to detail and experience with document control in regulated or large-scale infrastructure projects
