Overview
Equans is looking for a Technical Services Manager – Mechanical to join our team in Wakefield on a permanent basis. This full‑time role (37.5 hours per week) offers a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance, bonus and benefits package.
Responsibilities
 * Manage maintenance teams, including specialist subcontractors, to ensure safe and continuous operation of the hospital.
 * Participate in the 24hr on‑call rota as part of local escalation procedures.
 * All activities within the Technical Services team to meet and exceed contracted SLAs and KPIs.
 * Establish and maintain effective business relationships with key stakeholders, customers, partners, contractors, and other third parties.
 * Ensure compliance with statutory health and safety requirements, HTMs and Quality Assurance requirements.
 * Manage and review the site Health & Safety Plan and associated risk assessments with the SHEQ team.
 * Organise and manage daily planned and reactive maintenance tasks using the Maximo CAFM system.
Qualifications
 * Qualified to HNC/HND level in an engineering discipline and proven managerial track record for 3–5 years.
 * Technical background with Mechanical bias, preferably significant exposure to a healthcare environment.
 * AP appointments for MGPS, Mechanical Systems or ability to obtain through development.
 * Demonstrated technical leadership.
 * Must have (or be able to obtain) Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) clearance.
 * Ability to manage the site team, provide guidance to technical services operatives and supervisors, and drive performance improvements.
