Robert Half are partnering with a fast growing, diverse business in the financial services industry to place a full-time finance operations manager within the finance and operations team in its central London offices.
Our client is an FCA regulated boutique firm specialising in capital formation for international asset managers, including private equity, venture capital, buyout, real assets, credit, distressed, secondary, infrastructure and emerging markets funds.
The successful finance operations manager will be responsible for maintaining accurate books and records, processing invoices and expenses, managing PAYE and payroll administration, and supporting monthly financial reporting processes. They will also have executive assistant and office administration duties. The role is 5 days per week in the office, with competitive remuneration and benefits.
Candidates for the financial operations manager role should be proficient in Xero and have an AAT qualification as a minimum.
Key Responsibilities
Bookkeeping & Financial Records
* Maintain accurate day-to-day bookkeeping using Xero
* Process supplier invoices and ensure appropriate approvals
* Raise and reconcile sales invoices
* Maintain general ledger integrity and chart of accounts discipline
* Perform monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations
* Maintain fixed asset register
* Ensure clean audit trail and supporting documentation
Expenses & Payments
* Process employee expense claims in line with company policy
* Manage supplier payment runs
* Monitor aged payables and receivables
* Liaise with suppliers regarding payment queries
Payroll & PAYE
* Administer payroll (including PAYE, NI, pensions and statutory deductions)
* Coordinate with external payroll providers where applicable
* Ensure timely RTI submissions and HMRC compliance
* Maintain employee payroll records
Reporting Support
* Assist preparation of monthly management accounts pack (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cashflow)
* Assist with quarterly and year-end reporting
* Support external accountants and auditors during year-end audit
* Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
Administrative & Compliance Support
* Maintain statutory books and records
* Assist with Companies House filings where required
* Support finance-related compliance documentation
* Provide general administrative support to senior management as needed
Candidate Profile
Essential
* Minimum 3 years' bookkeeping / finance experience
* Advanced working knowledge of Xero (essential)
* Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook)
* Experience processing payroll and PAYE
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
* Strong organisational skills
* Ability to work independently and take ownership
* Experience preparing monthly management reports
Desirable
* Minimum AAT qualified
* Training background in audit or accounting firm
* Experience in professional services or regulated financial services environment
* Familiarity with VAT returns and UK GAAP reporting

Salary Range
* £40,000 - £55,000 base salary
