School Admissions Officer (Temporary - 14 Weeks)Location: Civic Offices, Bexleyheath (Onsite)Contract: 14 Weeks - 36 Hours per WeekStart Date: 23 February 2026IR35: InsideRate:PAYE: £124.78 per dayUmbrella/Ltd: £164.08 per dayRibble Recruitment is supporting a London Local Authority within Children's Services to appoint an experienced School Admissions Officer to provide long-term sickness cover within the School Admissions Team.This is a fast-paced statutory role requiring prior experience in local authority school admissions administration.The RoleYou will be responsible for the end-to-end administration of school admissions, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, council policy, and legislative timescales.Core responsibilities include:Managing nursery, primary and secondary admissions (standard entry and in-year applications)Administering coordinated admissions processesProcessing applications in line with statutory deadlinesMaintaining and updating pupil databasesMonitoring vacancies and year group capacitiesManaging Fair Access Protocol casesExchanging data with schools and other Local Authorities via Pan London systems, S2S and secure emailSupporting and administering the Bexley Selection Test process (including logistics, invigilation and marking support)Preparing cases for admission appeals and presenting appeals (following training)Handling complex parent enquiries, complaints and disputesMonitoring children without a school place and escalating where appropriateThis role requires high levels of accuracy, organisation, and strong customer service skills when dealing with parents, schools and internal stakeholders.Essential RequirementsPrevious experience working within a Local Authority School Admissions TeamStrong working knowledge of the School Admissions Code and relevant legislationExperience administering coordinated admissions and in-year transfersExperience maintaining pupil databases and handling sensitive dataAbility to manage appeals processes and complex parental enquiriesStrong organisational skills with ability to manage competing statutory deadlinesEligible to work in the UKDesirableExperience supporting selection test processesExperience presenting admission appeal casesKnowledge of Fair Access Protocol proceduresExperience maintaining council webpages or online application systems
