Job Description
Currently we have an excellent opportunity for a Specialty Doctor / Associate Specialist in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry to join a well-established and forward-thinking CAMHS inpatient service. The post is based within a specialist adolescent unit providing inpatient care for young people aged 12–18 with complex mental health needs.
You will work closely with experienced Consultant Psychiatrists and a highly skilled multidisciplinary team, contributing to high-quality assessment, treatment planning, and ongoing care. The service is undergoing exciting development, including the planned opening of a CAMHS PICU, offering excellent opportunities for professional growth within a supportive and well‑resourced environment.

Hours: Full time, 10 PA per week
Setting: CAMHS Inpatient & PICU
Location: Bournemouth
Responsibilities
* Provide psychiatric assessment and treatment to CAMHS inpatients
* Work under Consultant supervision within a multidisciplinary team
* Support formulation, care planning and risk management
* Review patients and contribute to ward rounds and clinical reviews
* Participate in service development and quality improvement work
* Provide clinical input to families and carers
* Take part in the on‑call rota appropriate to grade
Qualifications
* Full GMC registration with licence to practise
* Experience working in CAMHS or inpatient mental health settings
* Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
* Strong communication and clinical decision‑making skills
* Interest in professional development within CAMHS services
