Mental Health Advisor (Maternity Cover)
Pro rata of £31,279 to £34,189 per annum (i.e. £19,105.55 - £20,883.01). 26 hours per week, 38 weeks per year.
A fixed term maternity cover post at Northbrook, West Durrington campus, and Worthing Colleges. You will lead and coordinate support for students with mental health needs.
Responsibilities
* Manage a caseload and act as main point of contact between students, staff and external agencies.
* Provide guidance to staff to ensure effective and inclusive support.
* Collaborate with internal teams and external agencies to deliver a joined‑up approach to student wellbeing.
* Contribute to policy and best practice and promote a positive mental health culture through training and initiatives.
* Fixed term maternity cover for a maximum of one year or until the return, resignation or replacement of the current post holder, whichever is sooner.
Qualifications and Experience
* Experience working with children and adults with mental health difficulties.
* Experience and/or awareness of issues facing learners in further and higher education.
* Experience working within a multi‑disciplinary team in an educational setting.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and online platforms.
* Knowledge of Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults and an in‑depth understanding of Keeping Children Safe in Education.
* Ability to meet deadlines under pressure, with proven organisational skills.
