We are now recruiting Level 3 qualified Vehicle Technicians for our brand:new Midlands Super Hub Workshop (Dirft Drive, Crick, Northampton, NN6 7GZ), who'll earn GBP 59,310 per annum.

Overtime, which is regularly available, will be paid at GBP 26.98 per hour ( GBP 28.91 Bank Holiday).
Working Hours: 39.5 hours per week : 3 week rotating shift pattern
- Week 1: Early Monday : Friday 06:00 : 14:30
- Week 2: x3 Days Monday : Friday 09:30 : 18:00, with 2 days off, plus Saturday and Sunday 06:00 :14:30
- Week 3: Late Monday : Friday, 13:30 : 22:00
You'll be required to work 1 in 3 Saturdays and Sundays (with two days off in that week) rewarded with a weekend supplement of Saturday ( GBP 52.10 per attendance) and Sunday ( GBP 104.20 per attendance).
Late shift attendance will be GBP 87.58 per week (1 in 3 weeks).
Initially the working location will be Crick/Coventry workshop (any additional travel expenses incurred will be fully reimbursed) moving into the Midlands Super Hub by late 2026.

Training
- Annual training and development plan provided, with progression opportunities into management roles.
- Trailer, DDT and HGV training program. Royal Mail maintains a range of vans/trucks and trailers and we welcome applications from those willing to develop their skills. If your working background is mainly in the light vehicle sector we will provide inhouse and external training to help develop your career in the HGV industry, including MOT inspection standards, LOLER regulations training and vehicle diagnostics training.
The Role
With a Fleet of over 49,000 vehicles, meeting the challenge of maintaining our vehicles is a real team effort. With the opportunity to work on a range of makes and models of vehicle, there couldn't be a better time to join Royal Mail as a Vehicle Technician.
- You'll perform a full range of inspections, diagnostic, maintenance, and repair procedures on a range of vehicles, trailers, and mechanical equipment.
- You'll use your own personal toolkit to undertake routine maintenance and repair light / heavy goods vehicles.
- You'll also have access to specialist tooling and shared equipment in our modern, fully equipped workshops.
A bit about you
- Qualified mechanic: you're fully qualified to an advanced level (Level 3 in Light or Heavy vehicle or equivalent).
- Varied vehicle experience: Proven Vehicle Technician experience working on a wide range of vehicles, for example LCV / HGV.
- Valid UK driving licence: You hold a full manual UK driving licence, preferably an LGV licence with trailer experience.
- High working standards: you take pride in your work and do what is necessary to make sure the job is done effectively. Training may be provided for the right candidate.
- Flexible to service demands: you're able to work on a flexible shift rota. You're always willing to support your team where necessary.
