Job Summary
We are looking for a full-time Senior Finance Assistant to join our Finance team on a fixed-term basis, based mainly at our Norwich campus but who are able to work flexibly at our Easton and Paston campuses when required. This role has been created to provide additional support during a period of change, as the College prepares to implement a new accounting system. You will support the Finance Transactions Supervisor in the processing, reviewing and reconciliation of financial transactions, with a strong and specific focus on sales ledger income, invoicing and banking activities.
Responsibilities
* Process, review, and reconcile financial transactions, focusing on sales ledger income, invoicing, and banking activities.
* Ensure income is accurately recorded, banked and reconciled in a timely manner.
* Resolve queries relating to customer accounts.
* Maintain robust financial controls and meet deadlines.
* Play a key role in supporting the transition during an accounting system change and maintain business-as-usual activity.
* Provide professional and responsive customer service to students, staff and external organisations, and work closely with internal stakeholders to resolve income and invoicing queries.
Qualifications
* Proven experience working within a sales ledger function, managing income processes from customer setup and invoice creation through to receipt allocation and reconciliation.
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Strong Excel skills and experience working to deadlines.
* Experience of working through an accounting system change or system implementation is highly desirable.
* Experience of sales ledger activity within an education environment is desirable but not essential.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
