Position
We are looking for an experienced Pensions Administrator to support clients and scheme members with complex queries and calculations. The role is based in Leatherhead on a hybrid working basis.
Responsibilities
* Communicate with clients and scheme members on complex queries via letter, email and telephone.
* Gain a thorough understanding of the scheme details administered in the team and ensure activities are processed in line with the scheme rules.
* Perform complex pensions calculations, enter pensions data and answer enquiries to the required standard using both automated and non‑automated manual/system processes across a wide range of member or scheme events.
* Perform checking activity as required to support team members, and use MI reporting to monitor progress for member, client and scheme event work.
* Ensure errors, omissions and complaints are handled as per agreed procedures and within appropriate timescales.
* Monitor project income and work with your manager to ensure client projects are delivered on plan and to budget.
* Identify opportunities to generate additional revenue within your client group, ensuring requests for additional work are identified, costs calculated and confirmed.
* Keep abreast of technical developments, procedural and legislative changes, and be able to discuss and act upon their implications.
Qualifications
* Experience liaising with clients and trustees.
* Ability to perform complex pension calculations and peer review other calculations to a high standard of accuracy.
* Strong knowledge of member calculation processes, Defined Benefit (DB) scheme knowledge, scheme types and governing legislation issues.
* In‑depth knowledge of UK pensions legislation.
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
* Ability to analyse and improve processes.
* Relevant professional qualification (e.g., PMI) – desirable.
