About the Role: One of my local government clients is seeking a Virtual Education Officer and help shape the educational journey of Looked After Children (LAC). This rewarding role involves direct engagement with young people aged 2–18, supporting their academic progress, and acting as a vital link between schools, carers, and professionals. Key Responsibilities: * Hold a caseload of Looked After Children and track their educational progress. * Lead and document Personal Education Plan (PEP) meetings in line with statutory guidelines. * Provide guidance to schools and professionals on the education of children known to Social Care. * Attend school admission, exclusion, and professional meetings as an advocate for LAC. * Contribute to Pathway Plans for care leavers in education (18–25). * Ensure timely and high-quality completion of PEPs. * Use the eGov Solutions system accurately and effectively. * Build collaborative relationships across education and social services. Candidate Profile: Essential: * Degree-level education (or equivalent). * At least 1 year of experience within the UK education system or a virtual school. * Strong experience supporting vulnerable children, including those with SEN and/or EAL. Desirable: * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). * Postgraduate qualification in education or related field. * Full UK driving licence.
