The Head of Logistics and Inventory Control is responsible for our global freight movements and our inventory control across 4 regions, 6 distribution centres and our store network. Initially this responsibility will be very hands on and the operational support for this will sit in the global team but phase two will be to develop inventory control and freight capability within the regions as they grow.
* Experience managing a team
* Experience defining a global network strategy suited to changing business needs as well as running tenders and managing site migrations
* Has previously managed either 3PLs or freight forwarders and able to demonstrate driving operational performance improvement as well as budget management
* Exceptional Excel skills to model our data into a cost-to-serve dashboard by region and channel. This tool does not yet exist so you must understand what this could look like, how you would pull it together and how you would update the data on a regular basis
* Able to demonstrate real examples of taking ownership of projects/improvements right through to the end result
* Understanding and commercial awareness of the total supply chain including supply and demand planning
* Experience with multiple ERP and WMS systems is highly desirable, someone IT savvy who is able to bring experience of improved information sharing both internally and externally would be a real benefit
* An entrepreneurial flair, real commerciality and great relationship building abilities!
This will then enable the Head of Logistics and Inventory Control to focus on more strategic elements such as leading the regular review of our total logistics network to ensure it remains capable of supporting future growth plans, implementing global logistics best practice across our 3PL distribution centres and go-to-market network to drive improvements in service, cost and accuracy.
We are looking for someone who has excellent attention to detail and is willing to roll up their sleeves and get stuck into the operation, but who can also work strategically to overcome long-term challenges in an exceptionally fast-growing business.
Role Accountabilities:
* Run the Logistics function at, helping to define strategic priorities and direction, but also owning operational execution
* Manage a team of three (Logistics Planner and 2x Global Inventory Controller), supporting them to achieve their objectives as well as helping them develop and grow
* Work with the Global Inventory Controllers to ensure exceptional inventory accuracy at all warehouses and our stores
* Define, implement and control compliance of global best practice in all warehouses to improve cost, service and accuracy. Key processes include inbound checks, batch control, outbound order presentation and accuracy, returns management and perpetual inventory.
* Manage freight forwarder relationships and primary transport budget, working collaboratively to improve visibility, mitigate future capacity risks and reduce costs
* Design and own our cost-to-serve model, detailing how regional and channel costs are broken down by activity. Interrogate the data to present biggest opportunities for efficiency to Supply Chain leadership team and help implement change if required
* Support Supply Chain regional leads in 3PL and carrier tenders.
