Salary: £57,422 to £60,907 with progression to £66,537 per annum

The Role

As Head of Finance for the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, you will provide strategic, technical, operational, and financial management services to the Faculty Pro Vice Chancellor (PVC) and leadership team. You will offer expert guidance and recommendations to support the Faculty’s strategy and success through a period of change.
The role reports to the Director of Financial Performance and is a senior position within the Finance team.
To succeed, you will be a fully qualified and experienced finance professional with robust technical skills and an analytical mindset. You will have a proactive approach, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to engage and develop staff. You should be capable of building rapport with finance and non-finance staff across all levels of the organization. As Head of Faculty Finance, you will have senior-level experience managing financial activities and developing effective financial systems, processes, and controls.
This position is responsible for creating a collaborative environment, fostering trust and mutual respect, and championing the University’s values and principles. You will serve as a visible role model, demonstrating high standards of leadership and behavior, and contribute strategically to developing an outstanding professional service.
