Financial Accountant
Location: Manchester Centre
Salary: Up to £50k DOE
Full time: Permanent
Hybrid: 3 office – 2 home
We are on the lookout for an experienced Financial Accountant to join our client’s digital media and production company based in Manchester. They are currently undergoing a period of rapid expansion and are looking for a proactive Accountant to join their fast-moving finance team. Reporting to the Finance Manager/Director, you will play a vital role in ensuring airtight financial controls and delivering the commercial insights that drive the business forward.
We are looking for an immediate start to have this role filled before May. Candidates with a notice period exceeding 6 weeks may not be eligible for this specific vacancy.
The Role:
* Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including journals, accruals, and the production of management accounts with variance analysis.
* Partner with production and commercial teams to ensure accurate tracking and reconciliation of project revenues and costs.
* Manage balance sheet reconciliations and support internal/external audits to ensure high standards of accuracy and compliance.
* Oversee financial planning and forecasting across the business to provide meaningful commercial insight.
* Proactively identify and implement ways to strengthen financial controls and streamline reporting procedures.
* Build collaborative relationships across the business to gain a deep understanding of the digital revenue streams and cost structures.
Skills we are looking for:
* ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified (or part-qualified with at least 3 years of relevant experience).
* A solid grasp of accounting principles, with specific expertise in balance sheet management, reconciliations, and cash flow strategies.
* Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in ERP software (such as Xero or Workday).
* Prior experience within a production, broadcast, or digital media environment is a plus, but not essential.
To be considered for the upper end of the salary bracket, you will be an experienced finance professional with a proven track record of delivering results in high-growth, commercial environments.
