As the OEM for SABROE, Frick Compressors, and York products, we provide nationwide coverage with highly trained engineers delivering project solutions and planned, preventative, and reactive works. Our key markets include food and beverage, meat and poultry, cold storage, general manufacturing, leisure, pharmaceutical, and automotive sectors.
As a Commissioning Engineer, you will lead the start-up and commissioning of industrial refrigeration systems, ensuring compliance with system parameters, regulations, and standards. You will collaborate with sales, design engineers, and project managers to deliver systems within scope and budget, covering plant, equipment, pipework, refrigeration charges, and associated controls.
How You Will Do It
1. Act as the primary technical contact for clients during commissioning activities.
2. Support design and project teams with final design, scope, and specifications.
3. Interpret design documentation and installation requirements for refrigeration systems.
4. Apply knowledge of BSEN 378 (2016), Pressure Equipment Directive, Pressure Safety Systems Regulations, and DSEAR.
5. Attend onsite reviews, keep customers informed, and guide suppliers and contractors.
6. Ensure successful commissioning and client handover.
7. Travel across the UK & Ireland as required.
What We Look For
8. Proven experience in industrial refrigeration.
9. Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
10. Working knowledge of relevant directives and regulations.
11. Hands-on experience with commissioning and maintenance of refrigeration systems using HFC, CO₂, and natural refrigerants.
12. Understanding of system types (pumped overfed, two-stage, cascade).
13. Competence in 2D/3D drawing software and ability to interpret electrical controls.
14. F-Gas and Ammonia handling certificates.
15. Knowledge of CDM regulations.
16. Strong analytical and communication skills.
17. Ability to work independently and in a team.
18. Positive, proactive attitude and flexibility to travel.
