SEN Teaching Assistant - Secondary School - Barnet
Long Term Futures are working with a warm and inclusive SEND school in Barnet to appoint a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant for a September 2025 start.
This is a mainstream setting with an exceptional SEN department and a strong culture of inclusion. The team is experienced, well-organised, and committed to providing personalised support for students with autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, and mild to moderate learning difficulties.
This role would suit someone with a nurturing approach, a good understanding of additional needs, and a genuine passion for helping students reach their potential.
Key Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with additional needs across KS3 and KS4 Adapt resources and lessons to meet individual student needs Work closely with the SENCo, teaching staff and external professionals to implement EHCPs Support in-class participation and help develop independence* Track and report on student progress and engagement
Ideal Candidate Will Have: Previous experience supporting secondary students with SEN Strong understanding of autism and learning support strategies A patient, adaptable and resilient mindset Team-focused, with great communication skills* Background in education, youth work or support settings
Location and Transport - Barnet, North London Easily accessible via High Barnet, New Barnet and Totteridge & Whetstone stations Bus routes: 107, 263, 307, 326* On-site staff parking available
