Position: Area Sales Engineer - Industrial Electrical Control & Automation

On behalf of our Client, we have an excellent opportunity in the technical sales team of this rapidly growing business for an experienced Field-based Area Sales Engineer with a proven track record as a business developer and excellent salesman in the Electrical Control and Automation industry.
The Sales Engineer will be selling a full range of high-quality Industrial Control & Automation products, i.e. PLC, Control Gear, Switchgear & Circuit Protection, Variable Speed Drives, Sensors, HMI, and Process Instrumentation. The role involves providing customised and packaged solutions into the OEM, End User, System Integrator, and Panel Builder markets across the Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, and Derby area in the East Midlands.
While induction and ongoing training will be provided, as the successful candidate, you will have sales and technical experience in the Industrial Automation industry coupled with a record of sales success. A formal qualification in an Electrical/Electronic discipline is desirable but not essential; however, the ability to demonstrate your knowledge and sales skill is crucial. Ideally, you will also have benefited from further career development training to enhance your sales skills.
You will be working to achieve defined sales targets and will be capable of developing a personal plan to achieve your objectives through managing and further developing an existing portfolio of accounts while constantly striving to identify new avenues of business. The role requires flexibility due to road travel to meet the needs of the business.
Excellent attributes such as good organisational and communication skills, along with the ability to be an effective team player while enjoying a level of autonomy, are essential, as is capability with Microsoft packages.
