I am currently looking for a Business Development Director for a fantastic global full-service clinical Contract Research Organization with a great culture and excellent proposition. This is an exciting, newly created role working with a high-performance global team. The CRO has a strong reputation with clients, a stable base, and an excellent track record of growth year on year. You will be supported by a respected commercial team and some of the best clinical expertise in the industry, joining an organization with an excellent collaborative culture.
The role is an individual sales contributor position. It is remote, working from home, with a focus on the UK/western European territory. You will be responsible for securing new business and managing accounts within pharma, biotechnology, and medical device companies across therapeutic areas including oncology, CNS, renal, and rare diseases. Success in this role requires a hunter mentality and a strong network and sales track record in this region, selling full-service CRO solutions.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Achieving sales and business development targets
* Creating and implementing strategies for target markets
* Prospecting to establish a sales pipeline and RFPs from potential clients
* Utilizing Salesforce to track client activities and opportunities
* Leading and managing the sales process for generated and received leads
* Leading proposal development to meet client expectations
* Redefining profitable market niches based on evidence
* Providing input to marketing strategies
* Developing sales targets, strategies, and plans with leadership
* Supporting pre-sales activities and resource securing
* Engaging with agents and consultants in other regions
* Collaborating with internal research staff to maximize opportunities
* Attending conferences and trade shows to create opportunities
