Financial Controller / Senior Management Accountant Huddersfield | £40,000 - £50,000 | Permanent | Office based with flexibility for hours and hybrid working Overview We are recruiting for a Financial Controller / Senior Management Accountant to join a growing SME based in Huddersfield. This is a hands-on finance role working closely with the Finance Director, who will be retiring in the coming months. The successful candidate will receive a structured handover and play a key role in managing the day-to-day finance function. This position is ideally suited to someone who enjoys a hands-on SME environment, taking ownership of operational finance while also contributing to financial reporting, analysis and business growth. Approximately 70% of the role is operational accounting, with scope to support budgeting, forecasting and commercial decision-making. Key Responsibilities Preparation of monthly management accounts, P&L and balance sheet reporting. Managing cashflow forecasting and bank reconciliations. Preparation and submission of VAT returns. Oversight of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes. Maintaining accurate financial records using Access Dimensions or similar accounting systems.
