We are hiring for a talented AI Software Engineer to join the team in Ruddington to provide high quality development and maintenance of Intelligence Services (API services providing data science models and advanced LLM functionality) for consumption by People First and MHR internally.
Our software teams are passionate about pushing boundaries and delivering excellence. You’ll work in a Scrum Team consisting of product managers, UX designers, developers and testers in a culture that encourages collaboration, creativity, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
* Working as part of an Agile delivery team you’ll develop high quality software, meeting business requirements and satisfying quality, performance and security requirements.
* Undertake research and create proof of concepts as required, and attend conferences and events, documenting afterwards to extend the team knowledge.
* Support software maintenance and diagnosing and resolution of problems.
* Advise on technical solutions as per the business requirements and Architecture guardrails.
* Document decisions and progress in line with corporate and team project management.
* Provide estimates and commitments to the delivery of work, leading projects where necessary.
* Review code delivered by other developers.
* Coordinate with the assigned QA supporting the creation of automated test processes.
* Engage in any other tasks typically associated with the Software Development Lifecycle.
What you’ll bring
* Advanced Python experience using tools such as Poetry, FastAPI, LlamaIndex, OpenAI, Pydantic, Dependency Injector, Jupyter Notebooks, Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, SciPy, Plotly.
* Experience with Azure AI Studio and MS Azure Cloud Platform (Logic Apps, Function Apps, Azure Storage, Azure Container Apps, ARM/BICEP templates).
* Vector Database experience (e.g., Qdrant, ChromaDB).
* Databricks, LLMs, and Prompt Engineering for LLMs.
* Experience of testing and deployment of data science models to production.
* Learning and application of new technologies.
* You don’t need experience with all the above; a strong software engineering background and problem-solving passion are welcome.
