We are currently looking to appoint a Receptionist to work in the Den (this includes the Den Reception, Children's Hearing Services Reception and, when/if required, Nightingale ward and Neonatal Unit Receptions) within the Family Care Division. This role will involve work on weekends, and bank holidays. The successful candidate must be customer focused, with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent organisational skills and an ability to work under pressure are essential requirements together with great attention to detail for ensuring data is recorded accurately onto the patient administration systems. To be successful in this role you will possess IT skills, GCSE Maths and English grade A-C (or equivalent) and have relevant office/secretarial experience. You must also be adaptable to meet the service needs. Knowledge of medical terminology, customer care and previous NHS experience are also desirable.
Main duties of the job
The main emphasis of this role is to provide a comprehensive and courteous clerical and meet and greet service to patients and their families; along with the multidisciplinary teamworking within Child Health.
Duties will include checking in patients and booking follow up appointments, answering and actioning patient queries either via telephone/email/in person, and maintaining patient case notes as required for clinics.

* Educated to GCSE grade C or above standard (or equivalent) including English and Maths
Experience
