Responsibilities
* Engage with both new and existing users to fully exploit the capabilities of the UK National Ion Beam Centre (IBC) at the University of Surrey.
* Develop and enhance the facility’s technical capabilities to meet evolving user requirements.
* Actively engage with potential users and industry partners to attract new business opportunities and expand the IBC’s user base.
* Operate ion implantation facilities and provide technical support in the development and execution of user irradiation and implantation projects.
* Represent the IBC at scientific and technical meetings, presenting research outcomes, promoting facility expertise, and contributing to the Centre’s national and international visibility.
About You
* Develop understanding and knowledge of the IBC user base with a view to recognizing future needs and direction of travel.
* Under the guidance of the Head of Ion Beam Processing, develop the ion beam systems, technologies and capabilities within the IBC to maintain its position as a state‑of‑the‑art facility.
* Lead in‑house Quality Assurance program.
* Promote the IBC facilities and capabilities to relevant parties.
* Attend relevant symposia, conferences and industry gatherings to promote the IBC and ensure that it is at the forefront of its field.
* Write high‑quality implant reports to users.
* Publish journal articles.
