We are looking to
recruit a Ward Clerk (37.5 hours p/w, Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:00) at the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children. The role of the ward clerk is vital at the BRHC as you will play a crucial role in the smooth running of what is a very important and busy ward. You will be based on the reception desk so a friendly and welcoming demeanour, and the ability to remain calm under pressure, are essential for this role. Flexibility and a can-do attitude are also absolutely vital for this post as you will need to be approachable and keen to learn new processes.
Responsibilities will include acting as the patient’s first point of contact with the ward, greeting and signposting patients and relatives, processing patients using CareFlow, liaising with all clinicians and colleagues to facilitate a smooth and timely stay with the ward, and sending out patient discharge letters. The maintenance of paper and electronic records is also a key element of this role. This right candidate will be responsible for setting high standards of patient care by enacting the Trust’s values at all times.

You will be required to be the first point of contact on the ward so a friendly and welcoming demeanour and calmness under pressure are essential for this role.
Responsibilities will include acting as the patient’s first point of contact on the ward, greeting and signposting patients and relatives, processing patients using Medway, liaising with colleagues to facilitate a smooth and timely stay with the hospital, sending out patient information, sorting and distributing post. The maintenance of paper and electronic records is also a key element of this role.
