Experience required…
Essential:
8. Demonstratable skills and experience in the design of Traffic and/or Road Safety engineering schemes
9. Develop concept and feasibility designs for highways and transport projects using relative specifications, design guidance, design briefs and available site information
10. Knowledge of Traffic Regulation Order process
11. Knowledge of Road Safety audits
12. Undertake duties of designer under CDM regs 2015 including developing and collating pre-construction information
13. Ability to produce bills of quantities from design drawings
14. Other areas of expertise may include any of the following: Traffic Management, Traffic Calming, Active Travel, Signing and Lining, Highway Maintenance
15. Competency in the use of TSRGD, Traffic Signs Manual, Road Traffic Regulation Act, Manual for Streets and other local authority standards
16. Relevant experience in design software such as CAD/KeySign & KeyLine where appropriate
17. Experience in engaging with stakeholders.
18. Full UK driving license
19. Undertaking site visits and commissioning relevant site investigation works
20. BEng or equivalent degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or other recognised qualification in Civil Engineering and substantial post qualification experience
21. Ability to attend an office or site 2-3 days per week
Desirable:
22. Hold an appropriate professional qualification
23. Knowledge of Active Travel Design
24. Public or private sector experience
