Fixed‑term secondment (9/10 months until 31 March 2027) offers a Band 7 Dietitian role in the Level 3 Adult Weight Management Service within Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB). The position supports the Welsh Government Obesity Pathway and provides evidence‑based weight management for adults in North Wales.
Main responsibilities
- Provide autonomous clinical practice and dietetic expertise within the multidisciplinary weight‑management team.
- Deliver specialist advice, training and supervision to junior dietitians, other health professionals and students.
- Contribute to the development, implementation, evaluation and quality improvement of the Level 3 service across the Health Board.
- Work under the Service Lead and collaborate with multi‑agency community teams.
- Support operational functions as part of a wider multidisciplinary team.
Professional qualifications
- HCPC registered.
- BSc Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent.
- Post‑registration training in a specialist area / advanced diploma in dietetics.
- Clinical educator qualification.
- Evidence of CPD activity through portfolio.
- Membership of BDA or professional indemnity insurance.
- Post‑graduate training in weight management and behaviour change.
- Membership of a specialist interest group.
- Working towards an MSc or evidence of a research qualification / adequate experience in the area.
- Teaching qualification.
Experience
- Significant experience in nutrition and dietetics across a range of clinical settings.
- Experience delivering weight‑management caseloads and supporting through formal and informal supervision.
- Health and safety risk awareness.
- Understanding of professional ethics/code of conduct and application in practice.
- Knowledge of clinical governance.
- Experience in student placements across multiple levels.
- Experience of the research process.
- Use of outcome measures to evaluate clinical treatment.
- Teaching and group management experience.
- Specialist clinical skills within relevant areas.
- Experience in the delivery of audit projects.
- Experience of training/supporting others, including students, in a specialist clinical area.
