A well-established organisation based in the Stockport area is seeking an experienced and confident Credit Controller & Sales Ledger to join their small finance team. Your New RoleWorking as part of small finance team, in this standalone role, you will take ownership of the credit control and sales ledger function, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments. The role requires regular use of client portals, telephone and email debt chasing, interpany transactions and daily/weekly reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage the end-to-end credit control process, including chasing overdue payments (email and phone) and resolving queries.
2. Maintain and update the sales ledger accurately.
3. Upload invoices and manage transactions through client portals.
4. Reconcile accounts and allocate payments promptly.
5. Prepare aged debt reports and cash flow forecasts using Excel.
6. Liaise with clients and internal teams to resolve discrepancies professionally.
7. Ensurepliance withpany credit policies and procedures.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
8. Proven experience in credit control and sales ledger roles.
9. Working knowledge of Excel (knowledge of Sage or Xero would also be preferred but not essential).
10. Confident and personablemunication style with excellent negotiation skills.
11. Analytical mindset and exceptional attention to detail.
12. Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
13. Experience using client portals for invoicing and payment tracking.
