About us and Sustainability
You will be joining the Airbus UK Sustainability Representative function, where you will help drive the company\'s Sustainability Strategy across our sites and divisions throughout the UK. Sustainability is a cornerstone of our purpose and vital to our future success. As a member of this team, you will be part of a function that translates corporate strategy into operational plans, coordinated through various and site-based roadmaps. The Sustainability Representatives Network is a global network that operates in every nation and region where Airbus has a presence. This network was established to locally drive the development of: robust regulatory monitoring and compliance across all sites and divisions; a sustainability management system that aligns with our ISO 14001 environmental certification; a cultural shift to embed sustainability in everything we do; several company-wide roadmaps focused on achieving our top corporate objectives, including product footprint (Sustainable Aviation Fuels and Hydrogen systems) and operational footprint (reducing energy and CO2 emissions, water usage, waste, and air emissions); chemical substances (reducing or substituting harmful chemicals in line with global regulations); human rights (maintaining the highest standards throughout our value chain); supply chain (promoting sustainability within our global supplier network).
What you will be doing
The main objective of this role is to support the UK Sustainability Representative team with delivering key UK strategic sustainability projects and ensuring wide engagement of the Airbus functions and divisions on sustainability topics. The projects may include scoping new sustainability projects and partnerships, data gathering and analysis for implementation of environmental topics (including wellbeing and biodiversity activities), delivering communications and engagement sessions such as Sustainability Week events or community impact projects with local NGOs, and thinking proactively about ways to engage our employees on the sustainability journey. You will have access to knowledge about Sustainability at Airbus and connections to our Corporate Sustainability department in Toulouse, with opportunities to develop:

Requirements
* Our placements are open to Undergraduates only. It is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement.

* Your application should include a CV along with a Cover Letter outlining your motivation and suitability for the role.
* Demonstrate the following: studying towards a degree in Sustainability, an Environmental field, or equivalent; be proactive and not afraid to take initiative; ability to influence and engage with people and teams; strong communication skills; interest or experience in organization and planning of events or team building activities.
* Security clearance: You will be subject to a BPSS check. You may also need UK SC-level Security Clearance or Export Control, depending on the role.
