GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to work in a supportive school setting in Bentley. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people by providing guidance, encouragement, and tailored support.
Role Overview:
As an SEMH TA, you will work closely with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, supporting their social, emotional, and academic development. You will help implement strategies to manage behaviour, promote wellbeing, and create a safe and inclusive learning environment.
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:
* Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs.
* Build strong, positive relationships to encourage confidence and resilience.
* Support teachers in adapting learning to meet individual needs.
* Help manage behaviour using positive reinforcement strategies.
* Promote safeguarding and pupil welfare at all times.
Requirements for SEMH Teaching Assistant:
* Experience supporting pupils with SEMH, SEN, or behavioural needs (desirable).
* A compassionate, patient, and proactive approach.
* Strong behaviour management and interpersonal skills.
* An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
* A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
