Robert Half Ltd are delighted to be partnering with a well-established organisation based in Kidlington to recruit a Bookkeeper. This position offers a varied workload across accounts payable, accounts receivable, bookkeeping, VAT compliance and wider financial support. You will join a lovely, experienced team and benefit from flexible working hours while being based onsite.
The Role
* Contract length: Permanent
* Salary: £30,000 - £35,000
* Working pattern: Open to full-time or part-time (4 days per week)
* Flexible working hours
* Onsite role - potential to work from home one day per week following training & onboarding.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes
* Handle general bookkeeping duties and maintain accurate financial records
* Prepare and submit VAT returns, including partial exemption reconciliations
* Complete bank reconciliations
* Process bank payments and support cash management activities
* Assist with year-end duties (experience desirable but not essential)
* Provide support with a small element of payroll where required
* Support ad-hoc finance tasks as needed
Your Profile
* Strong bookkeeping experience with solid AP and AR knowledge
* Experience preparing VAT returns; partial exemption experience highly beneficial
* Confident performing bank reconciliations and managing bank payments
* Experience with monthly reconciliations (utilities, balance sheet items, etc.)
* Some payroll exposure or willingness to support small payroll tasks
* High attention to detail, excellent organisation, and ability to work independently
* Strong communication skills and a proactive approach
* Year-end experience desirable but not essential
