About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs in schools across Runcorn. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children by helping them access education and achieve their full potential.
Roles are available supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, across different age ranges and needs.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide tailored 1:1 or small group support to pupils with SEND
* Support children with a range of needs including autism (ASD), ADHD, SEMH, and speech & language difficulties
* Assist the class teacher with planning and delivering differentiated learning
* Implement behaviour management strategies and support emotional regulation
* Adapt learning materials to suit individual needs
* Track and report on pupil progress and engagement
* Promote independence, confidence, and social development
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
* Experience working with children with SEND in a school or care setting
* A patient, nurturing, and resilient approach
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills
* The ability to remain calm and supportive in challenging situations
* A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable pupils
* A commitment to safeguarding and child welfare
Desirable
* Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or Level 3)
* Additional SEND training (e.g. Team Teach, Autism Awareness)
* Experience working with EHCPs or behaviour support plans
