Job Overview
Position: Dedicated Individual Needs Assistant (KS1)
Hours of work: 4.5–18 per week, varying month to month, part‑time and term‑time only (39 weeks per year plus 6.5 weeks annual leave, increasing after 5 years of continuous service). Salary will be pro‑rata. Fixed term until the end of March 2027. Location: Mark Cross Church of England Primary School, Crowborough, TN6 3PJ.
Responsibilities
Provide individual needs support for KS1 pupils, assisting with learning and well‑being, and working as part of the school’s multidisciplinary team.
Qualifications & Competence
* Patient, calm and able to genuinely listen to children, valuing their thoughts and feelings.
* Kind, caring and passionate about helping pupils succeed.
* Demonstrated versatility, flexibility and a proactive approach to supporting learning.
* Maintains confidentiality at all times.
* Communicates clearly and positively with children, colleagues and parents.
* Experience supporting pupils with SEND or willingness to learn is desirable.
* Must not be disqualified under the Childcare Disqualification Regulations 2018; will provide self‑declaration form during pre‑employment checks.
