If you’ve ever said, "I’d do it differently" — here’s your chance.
You’ll develop the sales team, shape the strategy, and lead YOUR way…
This is your opportunity to take full ownership of an established sales team, building on solid foundations while putting your own stamp on the future.
The business is already well-known and trusted in their market.
But now it needs a leader to elevate the sales function to its next stage of consistent growth.
You’ll have autonomy and support from a like-minded leadership team, and the resources to grow something sustainable — without all the corporate red tape.
And the best part?
Expectations are realistic, the team is capable, and the growth targets are achievable.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
You’ll lead and inspire a sales team of 6, setting the commercial direction and building a culture that thrives.
You’ll work closely with the MD and Ops Director to align the sales engine with operational capacity — and make decisions that drive long-term value, not just short-term wins.
Expect to spend 2–3 days a week out in the field with your team — visiting key accounts, supporting client conversations, and leading from the front.
The rest of your time will be split between the Hailsham HQ and a remote admin day on Fridays to give you some flexibility.
You’ll have realistic targets too — with growth set at 5–8% YoY, you won’t be chasing the impossible.
Just delivering results through smart leadership and sharp commercial thinking.
And if you still enjoy sales and winning new customers yourself?
Nothing will stop you from doing this too!
—---------------------------
WHERE YOU'LL BE DOING IT
You’ll be joining a £14m turnover, family-owned business with over 100 years of history; which now employs 56 people.
From their East Sussex HQ, they supply thousands of businesses across healthcare, education, and more.
Their product portfolio is broad – including janitorial and washroom supplies, cleaning chemicals, PPE, healthcare consumables, as well as larger healthcare equipment and furniture.
Having their own warehouse and delivery fleet means fast, reliable service for clients. And their B Corp certification shows this is a company that genuinely does things the right way — for people and the planet.
You will be joining a team with a strong reputation for service, that believes in doing things the right way – and a company that will give you the opportunity to make a real impact on your future, as well as the futures of those in your team.
—---------------------------
WHAT EXPERIENCE YOU NEED
Firstly, you will need to be within a 1 hour commute to Hailsham, East Sussex.
You have also led a sales team before — either as a Sales Manager or Sales Director — and know how to coach, develop, and get the most out of your sales team without breaking them.
You’ve got sharp commercial instincts. You know your numbers, read data well, and you’re always spotting opportunities to improve margins, performance, or processes.
But above all, it’s your personality that counts.
You know how to get the best out of different people, not just with KPIs — but by understanding what makes them tick.
You’re charismatic, collaborative, emotionally intelligent, and able to bring others with you.
If you tick all of the boxes above and have experience within FMCG sales then you’re all good to apply!
