Order Project Manager Lead to ensure seamless project delivery and serve as a key link between our customers, internal teams, and production.
The role
This is a hands-on role focused on managing customer orders from receipt to delivery, ensuring all projects are delivered on time, fully compliant, and technically accurate. You’ll oversee a small, dedicated team, working closely with clients, estimators, and production to ensure our doorset solutions meet every requirement.
The role requires strong project coordination skills, a proactive attitude to problem-solving, and a deep understanding of the specialist joinery or fire door industry. You’ll also take responsibility for creating and managing standard technical details to streamline project delivery across the team.
Key responsibilities
* Oversee end-to-end order management for multiple customer projects.
* Liaise directly with clients to confirm technical details, delivery timelines, and project requirements.
* Ensure all projects are delivered fully compliant with fire and acoustic standards and internal quality checks.
* Manage and support a small team (3 employees) responsible for project administration and technical order processing.
* Create, maintain, and update standard technical details and documentation for consistent project execution.
* Collaborate with internal departments including sales, production, and installation to align on project milestones.
* Act as the technical and commercial point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle
* Identify risks, resolve issues quickly, and keep all stakeholders informed.
About you
You’re an experienced, organised, and customer-focused project lead who thrives on detail and follow-through. You understand the importance of technical accuracy, clear communication, and proactive order management in a specialist manufacturing environment.
You’ll need:
* Previous experience in the fire door, joinery, or specialist manufacturing industry (essential).
* Proven track record in order or project management roles with direct customer interaction.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to translate technical information for non-technical stakeholders.
* Strong team leadership and organisational skills.
* Solid understanding of compliance and industry standards (fire ratings, acoustic performance, etc.).
* Ability to create and maintain technical documents and standard processes.
* A calm, solution-focused approach to managing multiple projects under pressure.
