Our market leading energy company is looking for a Lead EC&I project engineer across their UK power station sites. You can be based at any one of them for ease, but with some travel expected. Sites are based in Kent, Nottingham, North Wales, Cheshire, and North Lincolnshire. The role is high-profile in helping to ensure security of supply and delivering business strategy to accelerate the energy transition. We are looking for an experienced Controls & Instrumentation (C&I) Projects Engineer to fulfill a discipline-specific role. This is a tremendous opportunity, offering development and experience on a massive scale supporting assets and teams across power generation and storage stations.
Essential:
1. You will be educated to a Higher National Diploma or Degree level in a Control & Instrumentation related discipline, supported with a sound technical knowledge of engineering, project management, and maintenance practices gained through experience.
2. You will be able to apply your good working knowledge of health, safety, and environmental legislation and standards to NEBOSH Certificate level or a recognized equivalent in a practical manner.
3. You will have a sound understanding of complex C&I process system operations, knowledge of current regulations and policy which affect the management and operations of process plant engineering assets, including Functional Safety (IEC61508/61511) and Cyber Security for Industrial and Control Systems (OG86).
4. Your strong interpersonal skills will enable effective working relationships within the team, across business functions, and with senior stakeholders.
5. Your excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills will enable effective task prioritization and resource management.
6. You will have in-depth knowledge, understanding, and be able to demonstrate the application of project management tools and techniques.
7. Your organizational, contract, and project management skills enable you to run several contracts within a project which involve on/off-site working including the health, safety, environmental, and quality aspects as well as the commercial and technical issues.
8. Full and clean UK driving license.
Desirable:
1. Use and knowledge of best practice lean tools for resolving engineering issues to root cause level.
2. Management, fault finding, and troubleshooting of DCS and PLC systems.
3. Management of alarms and simulations.
4. Knowledge and competence of using SAP based systems.
5. Experience of working in a fast-paced environment.
