Our Terrestrial Ecology Team
Our team delivers a wide range of ecological services including:
* Ecological surveys and assessments
* Biodiversity Net Gain
* Licensing and compliance support
* Ecological clerk of works
* Habitat creation and restoration design

The Role
We are seeking a Senior Ecologist with excellent communication skills and strong technical expertise in terrestrial ecology. You will lead and manage ecological survey work from inception through to delivery of technical reports and assessments.
In this role, you will:
* Lead and mentor junior ecologists
* Manage the delivery of ecological surveys and assessments
* Oversee Preliminary Ecological Appraisals, protected species surveys, and reporting
* Provide technical expertise on survey design and ecological assessment
* Prepare or review EIAs, HRAs, mitigation strategies, EcMPs, EPS licences and BNG assessments
* Engage with clients, stakeholders, and regulators
* Support business development and contribute to proposal writing
What you bring
* 8+ years of demonstrable professional experience
* A strong technical grounding across UK terrestrial ecology
* Experience delivering:
* Preliminary Ecological Appraisals
* Ecological Impact Assessments
* Protected species and habitat mitigation strategies
* Ecological Management Plans
* Biodiversity Net Gain assessments
* EPS licence applications
* Natural England protected species licences (bat licence strongly preferred)
* Full CIEEM membership
* Experience as an ECoW, and/or experience liaising with contractors
* Excellent written, verbal, organisational, and analytical skills
* A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel occasionally
