Location: CANW Residential Children’s Homes (Wilpshire, Blackburn)
Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week (flexible rota including weekends)
Salary: £30,018 – £32,004

We are looking for a dedicated Residential Therapist to join our team and help transform lives.


Your Role

As a Residential Therapist, you will play a vital part in supporting the emotional and mental wellbeing of children and young people living in our homes. You will:

* Provide 1:1 and group therapeutic interventions
* Identify emotional and mental health needs through assessment
* Deliver a range of creative, person-centered and solution-focused therapeutic approach
* Support residential staff teams through guidance, reflective discussion and mental health workshops
* Work collaboratively across agencies to achieve the best outcomes
* Contribute to service development and ensure practice aligns with safeguarding, Ofsted and CANW standards

We are seeking someone who is compassionate, resilient and passionate about improving young lives.


✔ Essential Qualifications (Level 3+ in at least one)

* Counselling Skills
* CBT
* Play Therapy
* Therapeutic work with children and young people
* Working with or supporting staff teams
* 1:1 therapeutic interventions
* Strong assessment and decision-making skills
* Safeguarding
* Outcomes monitoringKnowledge of childcare legislative frameworks
* Strong communication and ICT skills


✔ Additional Requirements

* Ability to work flexibly, including weekends
* Full UK driving licence and access to transport is essential

Experience

Counselling Skills Level 3 and above, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Level 3, Play therapy level 3, Psychology level 3, CYP IAPT Children and Young people’s Wellbeing Practitioner, CYP IAPT Education and Mental Health Practitioner (see person specification)
